Believe it will work

First and most importantly you need to attend all your company's events. You need to plug into their training programme. This will give you confidence - and confidence leads to belief.

Once you have belief then you will know that you will achieve your goals - so write them down and tick them off as you reach them.

Here was a man who was no good at this business, who knew no-one and who was, in his own words, "a tattoo-covered thug" - not the sort of person you might expect to succeed in a business where a smile and a kind word go so far.

But Gary's secret was that he wouldn't give up...

Just over 4 years ago I paid 200 quid and joined this business after watching the highly annoying Paul Daniels talk about Telecomplus. I went to training feeling totally out of place sitting with business people and thought: "I can't do this I'm a bruiser doorman what have I done?"

Then the training started and Jimmy and Pam Collins asked us to stand up and say who we were and why we had joined. I hardly got through because of nerves and because when I started saying what I wanted, I filled up and had a lump in my throat. At this point I didn't know that I was in Jimmy's team and when training finished I went home excited but still adamant that a tattoo-covered thug had no chance of making a success of anything like this. But I had no choice! The situation I was in financially was drastic.

Duncan who signed me up, helped so much. I had recently moved to Cannock and left my past behind. Building a list was a nightmare as I had left Telford to make a new start and didn't want to contact anyone. It took me 12 weeks to get 6 customers and get to QD.

I will never be able to thank Jimmy and Duncan and Lindy for everything they have done for me over the last four years, encouraging and guiding me to keep at it and never quit.

Why am I waffling about this?

Yesterday the team broke 4000 group at 4005 with a team of 563 IDs.

This morning it's 4041 and 566 IDs !

Its mind-blowing and I looked back at how it has grown and want to share with you all and for you to pass on to your teams to show what can be achieved with total faith and a refusal to give up whatever is thrown in the way.

I joined 16th Dec 2003

End of 2004. 289 group and 43 IDs

End of 2005. 1000 group and 150 IDs

End of 2006. 2173 group and 250 IDs

End of 2007. 3640 group and 502 IDs.

Today (early 2008) 4041 group and 566 IDs


I will never forget when I said to Jimmy after about 6 months that it wasn't moving fast enough and I was getting frustrated. He said keep going never give up because one day not far away your business will grow in one month more than what it took you 6 months to do. I thought he was on drugs.

Well last month the business went up 290 group customers and 46 IDs which is more than the first year's growth!

This month we are not even half way through and group is up over 200 and 25 IDs!

It will happen to you if you want it to. One big difference though - you will do it faster, a lot faster.
